A Letter from the Editor

With a few months under my belt at the Wisconsin Builders Association, and this being my first issue of Badger Builder, I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you –our members, and pillars of Wisconsin’s economy. In a nutshell, I have spent the last eight years working in a variety of capacities –Governor Walker’s office, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, and the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). It was my time at DSPS that really introduced me to the building industry and everything that encapsulates housing and construction.

Too often people forget how imperative housing is for the economy.

Builders and contractors construct the home –lenders secure financing –insurers protect the homes –realtors sell them. Homes spur retail demands –communities and neighborhoods demand adequate businesses and transportation; the list goes on and on.

Whether it is an email with legislative updates, events for the Wisconsin Builders Foundation that supports Wisconsin’s future builders, or a magazine delivered to your doorstep or office, it is my goal to provide you meaningful and relevant information to help you and your business thrive in this industry. So please let me know –what do you want to see from us? What topics are important to you right now? What struggles are you facing?

Help us help you. Wisconsin depends on it.
